TITLE/TOPIC: Our Psychological Relationship With Money.
PRESENTER: Simonne Gnessen, Wise Monkey Financial Coach and co-author of ‘Sheconomics’
DESCRIPTION
Why is it that most of us are more comfortable talking about our sex lives than we are talking about our money? Money is one of the biggest causes of stress. It plays such an important part in our lives, yet we rarely pay much attention to the relationship we have with it.
This workshop will give you a greater awareness of your feelings and behaviour around money and insight to help you overcome any blocks to financial success. Using practical, fun and eye-opening exercises, we’ll help you discover what money means to you and how your emotions impact on your financial decisions. You’ll also understand why people often seem to behave irrationally when it comes to money. We’ll give you some tools and exercises you can use with yourselves and your clients to help shake up old patterns and habits with money and achieve greater financial peace of mind.

TITLE/TOPIC: An Introduction to Music Therapy; a non-verbal emphasis
PRESENTER: Tina Warnock
WORKSHOP/ SEMINAR DESCRIPTION
Music therapy has been growing as a profession in the UK since the 1950’s. It involves the use of mainly improvised music as a means expression and exploration of the self and is particularly valuable for people who find it difficult to express themselves with words. In the session both the therapist and the client make use of a wide range of instruments, silence and their voices, allowing the client to develop their own musical language and identity. Music therapy is frequently a treatment of choice for people suffering from a physical or learning disability, illness or emotional distress. However it can also provide verbally able people with an alternative to words, bringing to light new aspects of themselves through spontaneous music-making and possibly song-writing in a therapeutic setting.
Music therapists from the Belltree Music Therapy Centre will be introducing music therapy as a modality through the presentation of casework, experiential learning and informal discussion.
