Q: I am interested in applying for a job with Sussex Counselling, who should I send my CV to?

A: Sussex Counselling is an association of independent counsellors operating throughout Sussex; as an organisation we do not have direct contact with clients and cannot therefore offer any jobs.

Q: I am interested in training as a counsellor, can you give me more details of your courses?

A: Sussex Counselling is an association of independent counsellors operating throughout Sussex; although we put on seminars and workshops to encourage our members in their ongoing professional development, we do not run counselling training courses, nor can we promote any one college or university in the area. For further information on training we would refer you to BACP

Q: I have recently enrolled on a counselling course and need to find an organisation in Sussex where I can develop my counselling skills. Could you provide me with more details?

Membership

Q: Who can become a member?

A: Membership is open to anybody interested in counselling or psychotherapy but only qualified counsellors can be listed in our directory.

Q: How do I apply for membership?

A: Download a copy of the application form from this website - here or send your address with your request for a printed copy to membership@sussex-counselling.co.uk or ring the information line tel no 01273 732 900. Post the completed form with your cheque to: Sussex Counselling, PO Box 71, Hassocks, W Sussex BN6 0BR.

Q: Who is eligible to be listed in the directory?

A: Only members who are fully qualified counsellors (to at least Diploma level from an accredited centre or equivalent) can be included in the printed or website directory. You also need to show evidence that you are being fully supervised, are a member of BACP or UKCP and have professional insurance cover.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Annual membership of Sussex Counselling from 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2007 is £25 (students £15, unwaged £10, non-BACP/UKCP members £30, organisations £32). Entry in the printed directory only is £40 and the website only is £20 or £50 for both. All subscriptions are due for renewal on 1 April each year.

Q: When is the directory published?

A: The printed and website directory is republished every July. For the printed version, entries must be received by the Directory Administrator before 31 March with the correct payment and relevant documents.

Q: Can I go on the website directory immediately?

A: Entries to the website directory can be accepted at any time during the year but the £20 fee will only cover the remaining months until the following July. Completed forms and the fee should be sent to the Membership Secretary. Your entry will appear within a month.

Q: Can I change my website entry during the year?

A: Changes or additions can be made to your listing on the website at any time for a fee of £5. Please send details in writing to the Membership Secretary with your cheque.

Q: How can I advertise in the Newsletter?

A: Download the Advertising ratecard for details of prices, sizes and copy deadlines. Then send your details to advertising@sussex-counselling.co.uk.

Q: When is the Newsletter published?

A: Four times a year - February, May, August and November. Deadlines for editorial or advertising copy are 18 January, 18 April, 18 July and 18 October.
