Seminar & marketing development

As part of my role in Sussex Counselling I am hoping to create a seminar programme that is inspired by the needs and requests of our members.

I have already organised four seminars for the 2009/2010 season. Details of the first two are in this newsletter and can be found on our website. However we have capacity for more and these empty spaces are waiting to be filled, based on what the members want.

I hope you will let me know your views and suggestions through the Sussex Counselling website forum. There is a lot elsewhere in this newsletter about the new forums and how important they are going to be in our becoming part of a community that communicates with each other. An exciting facet of this is going to be about the gaps in our learning and meeting the challenges and needs within our profession.

As a way of improving the value of your membership I want to stress again that we are reducing the cost of the seminars to just £5 for members and increasing the cost to £20 for non-members. We are also encouraging everyone to pay for their ticket via PayPal - currently 65% of members are paying by PayPal and we are aiming for 100% by next January.
For the moment you can reserve your ticket online by contacting seminars@sussex-counselling.co.uk and then pay on the door.

Please don’t send cheques via the post – we’ve had a few problems with this and are trying to resolve the problems by having a central address for all post.
At the end of the AGM on 11th July people commented on how motivated and inspired they felt by the meeting. There are lots of other things in the pipeline – including monthly get togethers, discussion meetings on subjects like Regulation and, as one member suggested at the AGM, a film group of some kind that examines human behaviour.
So let us know what you think and what you want. I look forward to chatting with you all.
